Well I watched it because there were no games on..I can't believe the format..I did not watch the night before so I did not see the performances but the three performances I watched Gokey and the Indian kid were good..Terrible format that tortures the contestants..Just my opinion and I speak for only myself.

My wife and I agree with many others who stated that Alexis & Danny definitely deserved to go through.
I thought Tatiana or Anoop would be 3rd, not Michael.
Theresa, I’m sorry your friend Ann Marie didn’t make it. She’s obviously very talented and we liked her, but I think there are too many other “stronger” vocalists for her to get one of the few wild cards.

Thanks Marc,
I do believe the judges comments Tuesday night had alot to do with the voting public.
Anyway, I believe Ann Marie is a much better singer than Tatiana.....

My early picks for next week are Adam Lambert and Matt Giraud. I am still undecided on which girl until after the Tuesday show.
We live to play another day.

I agree, Joe. It's done that way on purpose because that's what television's current demographic seems to enjoy. I think it's called Schadenfreude in German, and it's basically what keeps this show going.

It was also defined by a friend of mine as "reveling in the agony of others" but any sort of delight in anothers awful plight would cover it...Peter

Brian,

Sounds like we have the same ear, I voted for those 3! :) They did the best job!

I felt generous last night and also voted for Kris Allen and Matt Breitzke.

Tonight we'll know.......

well I thought that they all were pretty mild and boring, the only one that had any flash for my taste was the 16 year old gal, Allison.

I told my wife that tonight Ryan will say , we had 28,000,000 votes, they were all for the same person. The rest of you got NO votes !

My opinion, not one of the guys was worthy and just the one gal showed some flair.

Doesn't matter, if it's based on natural ability, when they hit the stage with Danny, they are all doomed or at least they should be.

i'm amazed that 'anyone', let alone on this forum, would vote for an idol contestant at their own expense. amazing!

You mean people call into this show... at their own expense? Are you kidding? Who over the age of 14 would waste time and money on this nonsense? No adults I know. And certainly no musicians I know. I guess P.T. Barnum was right..."there's a sucker born every minute".

Yep! They put down their Mastertones, take off their picks, and dial away.....

Defies belief, doesn't it?

well, most folks use there cell phones and there is no added expense, maybe a minute of use at best. You call a number, it rings and then hangs up, vote recorded. Each contestant has different phone number. You can also vote on-line.

I watch but don't vote, I don't really care who wins or if they even have a winner, I just like the show .

Can we try to imagine that there are also people that think we, who hang around in a Steel Guitar Forum ,are also nuts and have just way too much time on our hands while we talk about which strings last longer , and repeat the discussion every month or so like it never happened before. Then there are others who try to understand the philosophical threads by our philosophical member where there are over 3000 views !

Compared to some of the things we do right here, American Idol may be looking pretty good !

It doesn't cost you to call and vote.

I wouldn't call myself a sucker or anyone else that enjoys the show.

Tony, I agree with that! We're a pretty insane and obsessive bunch here! I'll be the first to admit it!

Theresa, I used the term "sucker" because I thought people were calling at their own expense, but I was wrong about that. I didn't mean to offend you. :)

But what about those that use their Cell phones minutes?..In either case I watched both shows this week and my opinion remains.. Its easier for producers and promoters to market crap in the music business nowadays..But that is my opinion..All of those kids are chasing their dreams of stardom... Whether they make it or not they have the guts to try in front of millions..Fact is it becomes a popularity contest now.. Simon like him or not voices his open opinion about bad performances however demoralizing it can be to a contestant, It influences voting..Whats wrong with the show is it takes contestants out of their own comfortable enviorment..Making some sing songs that is completely out of their comfort zone..However the good thing is the great exposure helps in the long run, if one has the talent..Also has helped if one doesn't in some cases...If they can make a star out of Bucky Covington Theres hope for anyone. :\ :? :( :o

Well, I got 2 out of 3 last night. Surprised on the one I got wrong.

I'll try again next week, although I don't see anyone who really stands out right now to me.
