If I were to get my rear kicked, I'd like it to be by Debashish Bhattacharya and Derrick Trucks.

Emmons, Day. Not only from the obvious technical standpoint, but a spiritual one as well, hoping some small fragment of their (steel playing) soul would rub off ....

Well, the fact that I have met Buddy Emmons, & he is has just a super personality, I think I would jam some country with him, but not any jazz stuff. As to Paul, he also is great, but I have never met him & he would probably scare hell out of me!! Buddy just seems to put people at ease & I don't think Buddy would laugh at my attempt!!

Are you kidding? It would be hard to pick only two just from Texas. This minute it would be Emmons and Crawford.

Tom, I like your picks and Sara Jory comes to mind also.

Well, I'm not a steeler, I am a standard electric picker.
However I am and have been for more years than I can recall, (60+ yrs) a huge FAN of the pedal steel guitar, so if I were a pedal player, my choices would be without hesitation - Curly, who many of you agree with, and Bobby White. For one reason, because they were the most "IN-TUNE" players of all in my opinion.

Couldn't resist that Billy... There are so many great ones its kinda like trying to pick something from a candy store... John, Paul, Lloyd, Weldon, Sonny Burnett, [I think I have his name right, never hear anyone mention him, is he still alive?], Hal, Bobbe, Julian, Jeff, Doug, Curley not to mention Garrish, Mike Johnson... How do you pick from a list like that and all the other greats that I didn't list.. Byrd, Helms, the list goes on forever..

If I played even good enough to hold their bars and picks it would be:
1.Ralph Mooney
2.Reece Anderson
3.Bobby Black
4.David Wright( that would be a Blast)
I could go on all day,so i will start with these 4 for now.
