There is only one thing for me....
THE WAY THE INSTRUMENT IS STEREOTYPED.
I'd like to see it "out front" more.

I'm crazy about the steel and enjoy what i call my practice time. Others call it corn.

The 3 most dreaded things i face is:
1. Trying to get the pack mule loaded with my gear outta my Nissan p/u.
2. Tryin to get him close to the stage while setting up, without sittin on one of the band members.
3. Cleanin up after said mule. Image

1. Taking it out of my hot trunk and then waiting 30 minutes for it to cool down before I tune.
2. Lead singer assuming I know the kick off for every song because I play steel.
3. Sliding into that wrong chord after I lost track of where the band went... Then trying to recover gracefully.

1. Not being able to get my energy level up enough to practice every day.

2. Not being able on stage to remember the licks I´ve practiced.

3. People coming up to me asking, "What´s the name of that instrument?"

#1 setting up and tearing down
#2 having a 6 stringer trying to upstage all of the lead instruments
#3 trying to make some one sound decent that can't stay in time
