When I come across comments like this I say you watch too much TV. In the real world, pretty people don't have to marry pretty people.

Do you ever watch TV? Pretty people RARELY marry pretty people on TV.

I've watched enough TV shows, movies, and commercials to know that 'good looking' women and 'good looking' men are often matched up with one another. Mainstream visual media are biased toward beauty, especially in advertising. And if our heads are filled with enough of that imagery, we will think that it is only natural for two physically attractive people to mate.

On most of the shows I've watched, the great looking chicks are married to some fat dude, or some slob or some retard :\ . Take the show All in the Family -- how in the heck did Gloria end up with that slob, Meathead? What about the show King of Queens? Similar deal.

What about the movie, Forrest Gump, huh? You can't argue with that.

This has been going on for years. What about The Munsters? What up wid dat? I think it to be quite unrealistic for a woman like Lilly to fall for a "man" like Herman Munster. I mean, get real.

The newer shows carry on with this same misconception. Take CSI Miami, for instance. Check it out. That flakey red-haired goof-ball with the neck problem named Horatio something-or-other is always getting the hot chicks. That's just wrong, man. :x

I won't deny there are exceptions, but in many cases fictitious couples are physically attractive.

I think the "exceptions" are more like the rule. I could go on with example after example, but this is getting off topic.

This thread is absolutely ridiculous. Allison Moorer is a beautiful, creative woman. To call her "stupid" because she's with a guy who's not the prettiest thing on Earth, but happens to be a GENIUS songwriter, and a very intelligent guy to boot, is a slap in the face. How come nobody's mentioned 80-something Hugh Hefner and his three over-inflated blonde girlfriends?

If it went off topic to somewhere
OTHER than where it's headed,
would be blessed relief.

As Dayna said in another thread :

Women feel about what they hear.
Men feel about what they see.

This would completely explain things :

He doesn't resemble a bridge troll.
I bet he talks a great line.
And I bet he is a lotta fun to be around.

Well, I'd be willing to bet that if you asked all the women why they really like a certain young male candidate, it wouldn't be entirely about what they hear.

I've read that many studies say that women are more attracted toa man that has a good sense of humor and fun to be around more than physical looks.

Men on the other hand are more attracted to looks at least at first.

On the subject of Lyle Lovett, I think it was Julias loss that they broke up, I have only met him once, but he dresses very sharp is a real gentleman and isn't as ugly as some think in person.

On Steve Earle and Allison Moorer, I know that she and Shelby had a rough childhood, so maybe she and Steve have alot in common.

Steve also has his own show now on Outlaw Country on Sirius Radio and has moved to NYC. He seems to be doing real well on all fronts.
Regards, Craig
