Best tone of the convention?

I listened over the internet radio, & quality really varied depending on the time of day, etc., but I was blown away by Bill Stafford's tone on his Excel. I am tempted to get one just based on that performance.

Listening back to my tapes I realized that I completely missed Walter Haynes. Wow, what a sweet tone! I'll ad him to my list. Anyone know what he was using for a rig? Real tasteful BIG reverb. Push/pull right? Amps?
