Bob,
I just want to add my KUDOS to you and the Forum. It looks to be in good shape for me.How else would I have known about "Steel Radio" and the Hook up to The St Louis Covention..That was almost like being there..Where else can you touch /contact thousands of people all over the world and learn Where the Jams and shows are going to be!!. Where else can you actually talk to your hero's and idols and actually get good reliable adivise. Where else do you have thousands of 'Friends" rallying around you in a time of need, illness, loss of a loved one, or just plain giving you help!. Where else can you be surrounded by a bunch of "Crazy's" talking about what color underwear you should wear when picking at a wdding while wearing you're fluffy sneakers!. Were else can you see and hear and have it spelled out how so -and -so got that "LICK"..and what settings he or she used on the amp ad/or proccessor,,,. Where else do you find that the founders and manufactueres of those fine products that we use ARE PART OF THE GROUP..and ARE Family?..WE ARE A FAMILY...BOB..Because of YOU and YOUR (OUR) FORUM. You and The Forum ARE A part of OUR LiFE!!!!. BOB...YOU...Brought US ALL TOGETHER!!!!.and the Pedal Steel Guitar World IS STRONGER Because og YOU!!!!!!! and YOU SHOULD and Will be in the SGHOF..

I found the Forum while I was "researching" the possibility of getting into PSG. After I found the Carter-Starter, (affordable), I started ordering books and tapes. Then I joined the Forum. I should have done it first! I have learned more from the forum than I learned from some of the instruction material!
To join, I ordered a set of strings and included a donation to the forum. My next order will include a donation too. Sorry it isn't more, but I have spent all my money on instruction tapes!

Carter-Starter, and the cutest little Peavey you ever saw!

I think now is a great time for all who log in here to review the rules of engagement concerning this great forum.
http://steelguitarforum.com/agree.html
It would be a a welcome suprise for b0b to deny continued participation to some who consistantly disregard these simple guidelines.
b0b, lately we have seen some pretty (unusually)out of line posts and replies here. Is the agreement outlines in the link above enforced?
The FEW that abuse your forementioned policy need to understand that participation on this forum is not a RIGHT it is a PRIVILAGE!
I love this forum and usually visit it a 4 or 5 times daily!!
Many thanks and wishing you continued success,

Actually, I think we pre-date EZBoard by a few years. But to answer, no, I had no idea it would get this big. It took me totally by surprise.b0b-Did you think when you started the little EZ Board, it would turn into this!!
Yes it is, and in the most extreme cases membership is revoked. The bannished tend to congregate at Steel Guitar Nashville's EZ Board, where they deride me at every opportunity.b0b, lately we have seen some pretty (unusually)out of line posts and replies here. Hey b0b - just being nosey, who's the old member re-joined??
I think what you've done b0b is to join all the steel players up as one complete unit with various offshoots of differing personal views. That's not a bad thing really - only thing is - it should be made mandatory for our individual governnments to view this great accomplishment of what one man can start and continue........it works worldwide too!!!
Good luck right into the far off distant future b0b.
Bob Mainwaring. Z.Bs. and other weird things.

MANY, MANY THANKS!
TOO many times I have been in a bad mood, clicked on the SGF....Read something Ol' Dr. Bobby said to someone, and nearly fell out of my chair. I too LOVE this GREAT GROUP of Ladys and Gentlemen who CARE. Simple as that. We DO care about on another, and if the WHOLE WORLD CARED AS WE DO, Well, I think this Ol' world would be a MUCH BETTER PLACE.
God Bless You ALL.
Ron

bOb, I've always felt you bring insight and balance to the forum. I'm principally a reader and occasionally respond. I feel your comments on REACTIONARY comments are right on. It seems for some members they
must straighten out the other opinions instead of just stating theirs. That's when it can get personal
thanks for everything you do.

The Steel Guitar Forum is a shinning star compared to many other forums. b0b is second to none in operating this forum, but, the state of the forum depends upon us, its members.
By participating in this forum I have learned much about the steel guitar, music, players, theory, equipment, and computers from the the computer section. Most of all, I have learned how to communicate.
Communicating on the internet takes more than typing out the first thing that comes to mind. There is the interpetation factor which can be a problem since we have no facial expression, hand & body gestures, or voice inflection. Sure, the smiles legend is a big help but we can't rely completely upon it. We must give thought to HOW we say something. It's not so much what we say, but how we say it. This is extremely important when voicing a negative or contrary opinion when we have them, and it is important that we have them in order to move forward.
The most important thing that I've learned here, is that there is ALWAYS a positive way to voice a negative/contrary opinion. It takes, some thought, some tact, some common sense, some class, and yes, some restraint.
I believe that we all have these qualities within us. It's just a matter of us using them. If we do, the state of the forum just keeps improving and more people will want to participate.
