I have played with the electronic drums on and off for years. One thing about them, they don't speed and drag, and are a great way to work on your timing. My biggest complaint is that on every one I have heard, the snare drum hits exactly in the middle of the beat. This makes me feel as if the drummer is on the brink of starting to speed and is pushing me thereby messing up my phrasing. Great drummers strike their snare right on the back edge of the beat, aolmost dragging, but NOT!!! JMO. But as had been said before, I prefer them over a wave drummer (My term, meaning the beat speeds and drags and is never quite solid) ( I could never be a drummer myself. It's too embarassing to beat your meter in front of hundreds of people. )
