205. "SING SING SING" BENNY GOODMAN ORCHESTRA
This isn't in the top 10???? How'd they get these numbers? That was the first song I ever got REALLY excited about. Didn't hear it until '54, when it was 15 years old (and I was 13.)

Unbelievable...
Hoagy Carmichael's "Stardust" isn't there,
but Sonny and Cher's tune makes the list?
Carmichael's Georgia--w/Ray Charles singing--
missing too.
Also "I've Got Rhythm" is missing, but of course we couldn't leave out Chicago's "Saturday in the Park"...
What's the point of having albums listed, can't they pick a song from an LP?
No list is ever complete, and yes Niravana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' is a definate must, you know there are people under forty and in late 1991 it was an industry prediction that Dire Straits, Michael Jackson, and U2 were going to dominate the charts heading into 1992.. man they were sooo wrong!
At that point I had practically given up on moderm music, then this trashy little band from Seattle reminded me that you could rock without lightning lead guitar breaks everywhere, you could be ironic and strange and hit the charts.. oh it was so fine!

I would have thought that #83, 84 & 88 would have been closer to the top. I Am Woman should have been higher than 311 but at least it made it!
Smiley, can you spell CUT AND PASTE?
Jim, he flunked that in grade school, spelling too!
[This message was edited by Mike Weirauch on 24 March 2001 at 10:11 AM.]
