Thanks for the overview. Very useful.
Reminds me a bit of my Yamaha THR-10. Fun unit. Lots of tonal possibilities, excellent practice room amp, and as soon as I got it to the park jam or an indoor jam, the percussion loops from one speaker and tele from either a Princeton or Cube 30 crushed it.

Re: Small basic [lap steel] amp for small jams?
I recently picked up a Spark 2, I also have a Vox Adio GT Air (similar to Spark but older) and a Quilter Steelaire.
The Vox has been great, I gigged it a while back playing tele in a band with drums in a small venue, and it got the job done, and more recently in an electric set with the steel and no drums, and it was plenty loud. It can produce are pretty amazing room-filling stereo sound considering it's size. I've also recorded with it via USB out.
The Quilter is great, but big and a bit of a one trick pony. I don't have a bunch of pedals, so just use the onboard reverb. I've also recorded via the line out.
I got the Spark 2 a month or so ago, needed a fair amount of tweaking to get good sounds, but am quite happy with it. Small and light, built-in battery is fantastic, no worries about ungrounded outlets. Louder than the Vox, but I understand the comments about not loud enough for big gigs. Keep in mind there are stereo 1/4" outs on the back that can go direct to the board, the amp is plenty loud enough for onstage volume if you don't have in-ear monitors and aren't playing in front of a wall of Marshalls. And also USB out for recording, and a bunch of other features like Bluetooth audio for practice, headphone jack, a looper, tuner, etc that I haven't used much yet. If I could only have one amp, it would be the Spark.
Lastly, I recently picked up a Keeley Halo Core pedal with stereo out, so now my favorite setup is the Vox and the Spark in stereo, and the Vox farther away with a bit more hall sound on it.
Here are my Spark 2 presets in ToneCloud if others are interested:
Modern Steel GT: https://spark.app.positivegrid.com/pres ... WDL6j38k1A
Vintage Steel GT: https://spark.app.positivegrid.com/pres ... wDAjbpPjv6
At this point the Quilter is an expensive amp stand for the Vox, will probably be selling it.
