I wondered why Cindy Cashdollar put the pedal so far out there when sitting and playing... then I noticed... her knee was not pumping up and down. It's the little things...
I’ve heard this (and I saw her at an outdoor festival I Madison, WI… but I was far from the stage.). It. Seems that the pedal would have to be slightly propped up for that, like the angle of a gas pedal in a car. Perhaps I’ll search on YouTube for vids of her. Anyway, I’ve found that using my right foot moves the guitar body a bit but not so much the neck/left hand area.
Well, you won't have to look far! This was for Cindy's going-away... she left Austin to be with her mom back in Woodstock. I wasn't videoing the pedal much... but you can see the angle her leg's at, and at the end you can see her go completely off the pedal at the end of the song, with no knee movement at all:

Blocking it up at an angle would certainly make that easier... or perhaps she's using a high-profile pedal.
Too much junk to list... always getting more.

I don't believe it has been mentioned:

One thing that separates steel guitar volume pedals from regular guitar volume pedals is where the hinge is. Pedal steel guitar volume control pedals have the hinge located farther back on the pedal, giving like a "car gas pedal" type of operation, and your knee does not move up and down. If the hinge is located in the middle of the pedal (it is, on some volume pedals), your knee moves up and down (maybe hindering your knee lever operations). Just an observation ...... Pat.
