Thank you. It sounds very spacey I'm going to try it too!

After spending time considering my desire for less guitar to carry around and the potential of this tuning I put it on a GFI S-10 a year ago then because I was in the middle of a few gigs I never pursued it so as not to get myself confused. After those gigs I didn't touch the steel for 8 months.
I've now spent some time on this tuning and am sold on it for what I want to play.
I was stunned last night to read that b0b had passed as I was looking forward to discussing this more as I got further into it.
I echo all the thanks and appreciation everyone has said about b0b's contribution to the steel guitar world so I guess my best way of saying thanks and honoring b0b is to pursue this tuning with far more diligence than I have so far.
THANKS b0b

I agree to everything that Jay is saying. I too dug into this tuning, expended it a little for an S-12 and fell for it. B0b went for simplicity and called it “hybrid” instead of universal for a reason.
Jay; lets pick up B0b’s legacy on this tuning from here and keep it alive.

Looks like its you and me Bas!

Being 6'th tuning based and leaving out the 7'th and 9'th strings from E9 as well as having the 6'th tone in between the 5'th and first tone (5'th and 4'th string of E9) will make this tuning a non starter for many I'm sure.
If I hadn't had that little GFI handy (very easy guitar to change tunings on) I might not have tried it either!

Here's a little nugget that I didn't realize until recently; A and B pedal down gives you the Dobro open G tuning. Guess I'll have to dig out my dobro simulator and see what I can do with that.
