Mark,

I will be slowly working on the guitar for a while it looks. I'm hoping to get some new pedal rods built for it. I will probably sell off the originals once I get some replacements.

The knee levers that were added to it were done back in the 70's or 80's. They are pretty rough right now...but once I alter them, I think that they will be good.

If I get them good, I will post pics of them and measurements so people can make their own and slap them on a Fender Steel.
Besides having the knees put on it, my guitar is all original.

I'm not sure about the two-footer method... I might try it if I can't get the knee levers to work better.

I will certainly keep you posted.

Casey

The Fender 2000 came today. I setup the e9 neck and tuned her up and she works great. Nice sounding guitar . The pedal action seems fine as well. Holds its tuning as good as any other guitar I ve seen, better than most. Very heavy though.
Sounds killer through a twin or any other amp I try. Im convinced.
It had the heaviest strings Ive ever seen on a steel on BOTH necks. This guitar has never had it this easy with only a thin set of E9's on it. Its in really nice shape for its age too. Ill post a couple of pics when I get back in town. Any tips on adjusting the springs and what I might accomplish if I did? Also I think the changer needs to be cleaned and lubed . Later

If anyone ever needs new springs, I may have found a source for them.

There is a rinky-dink hardware store in Wichita that has a HUGE assortment of springs...every length, size & tension you can imagine!!!

I'm sure that other local hardware stores around the U.S. may have a similar selection. I doubt if a giant chain-store would have such a great selection.

Spent some time playing the fender through a deluxe reverb today. I dont think Ive ever had so much fun on C6. This guitar through fender tube amps is pretty hard to beat as far as sound. The C6 is lush and open at the same time.Wow.
The string seperation on these pickups is kinda amazing too. This one is a keeper.
Maybe Im just happy to have a new tone to play with but I can see that this tone would work great in a band situation.
Dont get me wrong,I still love my shobuds but I love this fender just as much for what it does. Yee Haw.
