Get the power strip installed by the manufacturer, Johnny- it will be flush and right and no hassle later. Just my 2 cents.

Steeler's Choice for me also. No sign of wear in over 10 years. Great seat and Ken Rollans is a great guy to do business with.

A back rest is a must for me.

I have two of Dan Sliter's fine Elite seats, one with the little sidecar thing, one without. The one with the sidecar allows me to carry:

one Hilton pedal
one Goodrich pedal
one power strip
one long extension cord
one DI box
sets of strings for E9 and C6
about 6 cables of various lengths
one Line 6 delay modeler and power supply
one pouch of various tools for the push pull
one Boss TU tuner
one box of bars and picks
an overdrive pedal or two.

it has bounced around in the back of my truck for two years and works great. Dan is a great guy to do business with.

I want to thank each of you for your kind words concerning Steelers Choice seats. As I have stated in past forum posts, there are a lot of great seats on the market and great people that stand behind them. Steelers Choice is thankful and proud to be part of the steel guitar community. Dad and I have made a lot of wonderful friends through our seat business. If we can be of assistance with your seating needs, please email or call. I consider Dan Sliter (fellow Arkansan) of Elite seats and Ray Walker (another southern boy) of Walker seats good friends. So give all of us a look,a call,an email or just come see us. Out of the three I'm sure you will be satisfied.
Thanks Again, Dan Rollans @ Steelers Choice

You know...I appreciate each and every one of you folks who use our products and I think by now you all know that. On the other hand...Ken and Dan Rollans are dear friends and make a great product as well as Dan Sliter....Competitors???? I guess you can say that but I like the friendship we share a lot more...and for me there is no better feeling than that of a friend.

God Bless You All

I chose W. C. Edgars' seat because of the thicker foam cushion.

I'm one of those super sized player's. The Walker seat I own is built very well. The back rest is solid and overall comfortable.
I would buy another one if need be.

Does anyone have or tried:
steelseat.com
Thay have an ATA steel chair and claims to have more storage space than any of the ones mentioned in this post. I like the heavy hardware they use. They have a picture of Buddy Emmons at a steel show taking one for a "test drive". Thanks.

I made the switch to a drum throne with four legs (not three) and a nice solid back support. I've never been happier, and I just put my cables, pedals , ect. in a milk crate that doubles as an amp stand. Works for me.

John, to be honest, you just need to get out and try what's available. I did, and bought one of the cheapest. Why? Because the big, fancy, expensive ones are just too bulky, and too heavy for my own tastes.
[This message was edited by Donny Hinson on 22 February 2006 at 05:21 PM.]

Try a drummer's throne. Totally adjustable, has a backrest that is adjustable every which a way. Stout, lots of chrome and about $150 at Guitar Center.
TAMA is the best IMHO.

hope this helps
