Actually, I'm happy with Smiley's sound also.
Its one of the best Sho-Bud sounds that I've heard. Maximum retro Sho-Bud tone.
Happy with Your sound?

As long as I KEEP practicing I keep loving the sound of it.I have noticed that the more I practice intonation and picking, the better my gear sounds!
My gear? '78 ShoBud Pro I (all original) > Audio Arts 4100 4-band Parametric (-11db @ 1.6 oct. @ 180Hz / -16db @ 1.6 oct. @ 420Hz / +12 @ 1,8 oct. @ 2.4KHz / +12 @ .65 oct. @ 6KHz > Audio Arts 1200 Compressor/Limiter (4:1 or so and just touching the peaks) > Roland SDE2500 Delay (308ms) > Yamaha REV7 (stock "Strings" patch w/100ms predelay) > Crown D150 > 2 x JBL D130F in separate boxes. Sometimes I use two-way speakers and bypass the 6KHz boost due to the improved highs. These settings are where I start from and tweek to suit the room, etc.
Of course for a fly date I'm likely to order up a local NV400 and deal with it - like I said, as long as I keep practicing.....
