I got "drilled" this summer by this pop-up stuff.

Thanks to the computer section of the forum I discovered Mozilla's Foxfire and Thunderbird .

Then I upgraded to the latest PC-cillin ... and its back to a managable state ...

Though I have seen an increase today after goin' to the above mentioned site.

who is this Nick Reed pendejo? Maybe we should get together and find him. His link made my virus scan go wild. Now for the next month I'll be dealing with trojons. It is his fault.

If you are tired of these kinds of problems, there is a very simple solution: Macintosh. You will never have to worry again (these folks nearly always target Windows users only), and you get a much more user-friendly OS. And a nice looking computer!

Does anybody know a fix for this? I have to delete a file called C\WINDOWS\SYSTB.DLL which is now part of Windows, and the Begin2Search thing that has attached itself to my toolbar?

Wow. I visited the site a few days ago. Fortunately I'm using the Mozilla browser.

Has anyone gotten a browser hijack? BAD STUFF.

So many of these viri are aimed at IE users by MS-hating hackers.

Do yourself a favor and download the free Mozilla browser. Plus Adaware and Spybot. All three are free!

Steve Stallings has always seemed like a stand up kind of guy on the forum from what I recall. He may be unaware of what's going on. I highly doubt it's malicious on his part or Nick's. He needs to be made aware of this, though.

That said--I'm not going anywhere near the site Image...

I agree with John.
Nick and Steve did notintentionally cause this problem.

I visited the link and had no problem, probably because I was on a Mac.

To everybody that's infected with this junkmail.
I installed "HYJACKTHIS" and got rid of ALL the mallware and other pop-ups in 2minutes.The only thing that i also got rid of was my IE and i simply installed that again and everything is alright now.

Thought you would like to now about this.

John and Joey.I agree with the both of you..I don't think that this has been done intentionally. Not everyone is a computerwizzkid...

In the "Computer" section Tom Demeir had a fix for these trojans. It worked for me. I too, don't think Nick or Steve are at fault. If I'm not mistaken, Steve is a Mac user. He may not be aware of any problems. He should now. I still recommend staying away.

I think that we should leave it this way.

Try Mozilla! I visited the "new site" shortly after this thread began. I got no pop-ups (haven't seen one in over a year) and caught no cooties while there. I also recommend Linux (that's how I discovered mozilla). The learning curve isn't that bad. I'd liken it to getting used to a relocated pull. Cheaper than switching to a mac (nothing against macs, they helped bring us computer music) to escape the perils of MS systems.

ZoneAlarm alerted me right away when I hit that forum yesterday. I didn't allow the popups to do any damage. It's really discouraging that this is happening. Steve can fix it by turning his site into a "Gold" site (give EZBoard $30 every 6 months). That's what the Christian board does, I think.

This has become a computer topic, so I'm moving it to the "Computers" section.
