A dear friend and Alberta steeler Dick Kruger did just that once, hosed her down in a car wash. The only thing that he didn't count on was killing the pickups. They died.

Cal
Ethel has big hair, and she's "hot" in a middle-aged Southern belle kind of way. Quit smoking a few years ago, but still enjoys her Crown and Coke. Still has her girlish figure.

Vern smokes too much, which Ethel gives him an equal amount of grief over. His boots are pointed, his shirts are short sleeved with pearl snaps, except in winter when they are long sleeved with pearl snaps. Occasionally they both wear western "steady shirts"... you've seen the type. Vern wears straw cowboy hats from Easter through Thanksgiving, then it's back to felt. His cigarettes are in his left breast pocket. He doesn't dip anymore, but the faded outline of the Skoal can is still on his right rear jeans pocket. He's real skinny, but showing a little paunch.

Ethel is very demure and lady-like when a band member comes over, but Vern is very demonstrative and feels no problem hugging a band member whose music turns him on.

Come on down to Austin and a James Hand gig, and I'll introduce you to these folks. They're cool people.

Ive been trying to play pedal steel for 12 too 15 years, i also like to sing, and have wrote a few songs that hometown folks likes and nashville said trash, but im far a better singer then steel player no matter how hard i try, but yet i know other people that can play great great steel yet has never tried to sing a song, i guess what im trying to say is you cant force something if it just isnt there, in my case ive forced and forced myself to become a better player and yet after 15 years im still trying,
as a singer theres nothing worse then having a bad band backing you up steel fighting with lead man, and piano. oh well ill shut up lol good thread

Herb Herbster writes and I quote Mr.Steiner.

"show them (the audience) you love them, and they'll love you back."

I tried that Herb and they tried to take my pants off. Image

Herb,

So Ethel & Vern can dig "Whiskey River", but not 25 choruses of "C-Jam Blues." I get it. I'll watch for them on Broadway.
