does verbocity mean the velocity at which my verbs are travelling? or the florid embellishment of normally mundane nouns and adjectives being juxtaposed with fast and bulbous verbs?

not that this has anything to do with the discussion of "tone"....

quite the contrary, this is about tone. tone of expression, tone of environment, tone of creative descriptivity....
[This message was edited by Bill Fulbright on 06 June 2003 at 05:42 AM.]

I know you think you understood what you thought he said; but, I'm not quite sure that what you heard is what he meant.

I know we aren't supposed to discuss politics on here. Maybe there should also be a rule that we don't talk like them.

By the way, the only place for that orange steel is in the home of the Big Orange, Knoxville. Either there or Syracuse, which seems less likely. Image

Thanks CHIP & BILL, now I'm not so worried about this being a poorly worded thread. I am tempted to say you are both ignisfatuus rhetoricians, but then,I'm just an old rhombencephalon myself. Image

LEE, you are a hoot! I love your sense of humor! I played a gig in McAllen one time. Some of the band members decided to buy a few of those 50lb. bags of produce they sell by the roadside there. The grapefruit were fine, but do you know what 100lbs.of onions smell like after 400 miles of travel. Yep, we had to ride with them all the way home! Whew!

It must have comparable to the smell of our drummers feet after a week on the road! Image

Orange, Yellow, Pink, Chartruse, anything looks better on stage to the public than black does. Sorry guys, this is the truth. Look at a dark stage with the steel player sitting on the far side, wearing a black shirt and pants, sitting on a black Pack-a-seat, in front of a black amp,The only hope he has to be seen is to play a "knocked out" looking, killer colored steel guitar. A beautiful transparent orange or yellow guitar might be just what you need to keep the job, make more money, get the purdy girl etc..

I once saw BOBBE playing a steel with racing stripes on it. Maybe you have a point, there, but why would you want to dress like Johnny Cash? (Black)JMHO!

I'm starting to think, "to hell with that great Black Guitar Tone, I'm going for CalTrans Orange." Seriously!

Who wants to dress like Johnny Cash? Not me, but when the band leader is paying me to, I do. A lot of that going around these days.

What if the bandleader wanted you to dress like Roseanne Cash, Bobbe? (Ouch! I think I hurt my brain picturing that!)

Right bOb, what I hate is having to wear the "Rosanne style high heels". Especially on those California tours. I do get some strange offers around San Fran.

Edgar Bowman did the solo. That's why it's called the "E-Bow".

I should've named this thread,"Comments FROM Dr.B.Seymore." The real question is,"How did this thread ever endure this long?" Image
