I think Janelle Arthur will be going home tonight. She murdered "When I Call Your Name" and Dolly's record. I don't know who got in her ear, about over singing with the runs and dancing on stage? Bye.....

Power house in women this season. I still love Kree! :)

Mark, Theresa and Jack: Wow, thank you so much for the kind remarks. I can't tell you how much it means. I am from MS- Starkville and Greenville, to be exact. Lived in Oxford too. Spent a lot of time in Leland. Again, thanks for the kindness, it means the world to me!

And yes - GFI - those folks make such fine instruments!

Last year was the final year I watched AI. My wife & I were devoted followers of the show from the beginning, but it lost its appeal to us.
Simon Cowell knew what he was doing and that the show had run its (useful & entertaining) course. And once Simon left, the show went even further downhill.
Sure it was always a popularity contest, not based on talent, but at least there were some truly deserving winners. But the last years when very mediocre white male singers won it every time -it just became nauseating. I had a difficult time listening to last year’s winner sing an entire song and in my opinion he should not have even made it out of Hollywood. I heard about the all-female final four being very talented singers, so I checked it out a couple of times. I certainly liked it more than previous years, but I think it’s too late. AI has lost me as a fan. (Of course I’m sure they don’t care)
Then the other night I caught the last minute of a girl singing a pretty good version of Procol Harum’s Whiter Shade of Pale. Unfortunately, when interviewed later she said something like “I always liked listening to Percy Sledge” Now I understand she wasn’t even born when this music was out, but come on….
Though at least she had the first letter right (P)
Of course I found her mistake entertaining, because afterwards I would myself making fun of it by saying things like (in my best Ed Sullivan imitation “Right here on our stage, 4 mop top lads from Liverpool, The Beach Boys) :D

OK – I probably said way too much already.

they should keep the steels offstage unless they're going to produce something worthwhile. c'mon...you all know the incredible depth and beauty a steel can produce. quit presenting them as a lifeless prop!!!

kree...maybe...but they'll have a lot of work cut out for themselves in the visual dept.

i wonder if the $18 million lump of nothingness had anything to do with this?

maybe it's time to just chuck it in.

all the shows this season have pretty much thrown out the interesting contestants and ended up with a final group of non-special types.

Kree will be the "winner" in the long run. AI hates to admit it, but, their most successful acts have been country or country oriented. Candice is good, but I personally believe she will have a Reuben Studdard type of career. BTW, Kree no doubt will have access to, and will make use of, the greatest songwriters in the world, yes, the incomparable songwriting community in Nashville Tn.

I think over the long haul Angie Miller might have the most successful career of anyone from this year's roster. I think Amber Holcomb has a lot of potential as well.

Congrat's to Candice! Kree & Amber will have careers. Angie lacks soul, but has good range.
The ratings were down due to judges. The girls did good this season! :)

i fear (not really) that the star bubble of 'tween bubblegum' tunes and 'teen testosterone' songs is soon to pop. opening up the door for a refreshingly more palatable type of music including possibly some sensitive counyryish stuff without a wall of noise behind it.
