Songs are like the life of a new born baby,it has a catalog number. It ain't free for he or she to come in this world.some body has to pay for them one way or another. And,it sure ain't God or the Devil paying that tab.WE are all under the power of who runs the world let alone the music business. B.S. walks and Money Talks. This stuff only means something to one when it hits them or maybe You. I've always been told from day one as a little boy by my dad when I was growing up.Pay the devil who run the table and you will always be able to work and feed your family or else. You know that term?,don't you! We are living in sad times and it ain't gonna get any better Til Jesus kills the Devil and his Army of Human Animals who are in control. So, until those who recognize it's in every walk of life on us,you ain't gonna see any change in your pocket for free. Remember it starts in your own backyard and or home. Write your own songs and have fun.Be happy! ;-) Uncle = Leo J.Eiffert,Jr. PS; Listen if you don't think I've learned from the best in the world of this business from Bill Boyd,Cliffie Stone,Stan Ross,Dick Clark,Johnny Angel,Gene Weed and let alone my own neighborhood all the wat to Nashville and Memphis, than I don't know crap!,and God help me.....

The Hunger Games movie licensed one of my compositions from an album, Aluminum Overcast, that I put out about a decade ago. I got a call from Lionsgate with a lo-ball, take-it-or-leave-it, buy-out offer and needless to say, I took it.

I don't remember what my production cost was, to put out the album, but it was probably in the $7500 range and over that last decade, I've made less than $500 back. This is not "popular" music and I wasn't expecting to make anything, but every little bit helps.

Because of the movie, my piece ended up on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwZp336T ... re=related
and it's gotten over 60,000 hits, so far. Back when I heard about it being there, I rushed over to see how it was doing and there were a lot of hits and I'm thinking, I might get some "record sales".

So, I'm also reading the comments, out of curiosity, and there's one where someone says, "How do I get a mp3 copy of this?" Well, you just click on the download button and you can get one for 99cents. Nope, the next post tells them to Google -youtube to mp3- and they can get it for free.

Oh, and I don't get royalties or publishing because it was a buy-out.

so lets just all write p.o.s. lyrics with good music,3 of my bar and grill venues stopped having live music because of bmi hassles, now i pretty much sit at home. not that i made over $100 a gig anyway, but they took my fun away. they need to leave the little people alone. i'll spend my time writing p.o.s. material. this country is goin to hell. there..my 5 cents. yeah that went up too.
