Amen to that! Sadly, we live in a world now where all people think they can sing.

I posted this a couple of years ago but seems like a good place to do it again.

Richard, When I was 11 years old, I tried to play trumpet, in the sixth grade band at my school. Only to have the band director tell me, I did not have what it took to play. He was RIGHT. But that didn't stop me from following my love to play music. About 12 years later, I saw this at the gas station, I was working at. At that time I was playing bass in off time. I told him that landed a side job with a band playing bass. And that was after he told me, I did not have any talent. What I am saying that some people, have the talent to sing, some have the talent to play. 33 years later, I started to learn to play the steel guitar. For the man I originally, played bass for. Needless to say, my playing drove alot of people, crazy. Including my mom and dad. But after many years of practicing and working at it, I have come along way. The guy in this band, would tell me after playing," Tommy, I love ya, but get back on that bass". I guess what I am trying to say is be honest, with him. He will respect you more, if you are up front with him, rather than not being honest. Honesty is always the best policy.

By the way, those people who've never thought I would be that good of steel player, I wish they would hear now.

the china cymbal has to stay because the drummer likes it.
Something is gravely amiss here... :whoa: There's reasons they make drummers sit at the back of the stage, you know.
