This song is actually worse than "To All the Girls I've Loved Before", which has got to be some kind of distinction. The development of lyrical themes... the harmonizing... I think Willie gets a kick out of people actually paying him money to screw around like that.
The secret star of that P.O.S. was Mickey the Harmonica Player, of course. He's one of Willie's old friends, as has been playing with him for decades now - he kind of buoys Willie along when his "lead guitar soloing" leads off the porch and out the back door. He may be the only fully-grown man in the world who is able to support himself entirely from the instrument. Hopefully so, at least.

I love Willie and I love his writing too...We opened for him at BillyBobs last time he was here...His guitar playing was abstract...which is cool if theres a contrast between songs...But after 3 songs of manic guitar hysteria...I was done..I had to leave the building..Its not pleasing at all...I would venture to say thats why Jody Maphis left after all those years..and Mickey wasn't with him either...JUST WILLIE...His sister, a bass player, and a BONGO Player...
