I'll have to agree with that Paul, I guess it's just the frustration of trying to get around in the city with everything congested. The times I've been there when there wasn't anything going on in the arena were very nice and lower Broadway seemed like a safe place to be. You're right about the way it used to be! The first time I ever went to Nashville I think there was maybe a big vacant lot where the arena is now and there were some X rated porn shops and such around there so it wasn't very family friendly. I was just frustrated about trying to get around because when we come to town we like to spend an afternoon or early evening just hitting some of the bars along the street as you can hear some pretty fine musicians and singers. As far as the new Timejumper lineup. Larry Franklin's a keeper. Is he related? He plays his butt off and has a great stage presence..........JH in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

A lot of the places on Broadway must have been great in the 50's/60's when Nashville was 1/10th the population and country music 1/100th the polularity it is now. Those old clubs are just too crowded to enjoy at night, although they have some excellent music (Brazilbilly's, Don Kelley, Ike Johnson).

Sometimes you can find some rare jems there in the afternoon but its very iffy.

Bo Borland,You're Right. Garth is watching all that money in Nashville like he did in Los Angeles,California for the City from the Watts Riot to help re-build,And it was only Two Million from words off the street. I got my ass in trouble off this thing too in it's day.Just for telling the truth with the big boy in the music business. My hat is off to Garth and I am proud of him for all that he has done for my west coast friends & family. He once almost made me a million dollars for what he's doing now. Sincerely in Country Music,Leo J.Eiffert,Jr. & his Pigeons Band. ;-)
