Oh nooooo, now I'm going to have to listen to JT so I can hear what Red laid down! Maybe Red and James are on separate stereo channels...
Thanx for that info, Chip.

Ron,

I think [reiterate think] Red is all over the "Sweet Baby James" LP; especially on 'Sweet Baby James'. :)

Hey Chip from Byrds to JT. Ya you turned it off to soon, I saw maybe the last half or more last wkend. They did lots of singing together. He brought out Leland Sklar, Jeff Kunkel and Danny Korchtmar, they were backup band the whole time I watched. I really liked it, when they went to donation time I just went and did something else (The Forum)
I totally agree about the nostalgia thing. How can you listen to Sweet Baby James album and not be carried back. I still listen to it fairly often, sounds good to me.

Will, and evryone else on this thread...

I apologize. I opened MY BIG MOUTH as I usually do when I've had a few.

PBS has been running Carol & James round-the-clock, and I've been re-watching, and I feel like a fool.

It is a great concert. I shot my big mouth off.

They do sing together, and quite well, BTW.

I think my initial comment was more of a reaction towards PBS and their pumped-up fund drives, now, that really annoy me.

My point, OK, is - you never, ever see the GOOD stuff on PBS, until they want the do-re-mi. And everything is always re-runs. Well, just like the rest of TV.

So, I apologize James, and Carol, not that you would give a flying hoot, but here it is.

Thanks for being the great artists that you are.

It was good to see Lee Sklar with James again, they had a some sort of a falling out after James stopped touring way back , Lee was picked up by Phil Collins, per the Lee Sklar interview, James called and wanted him to join his band to tour again but Lee was committed to Phil Collins, I guess after that it appeared James copped an attitude and didn't talk to Lee for many many years. Lee was pretty upset as he and James went back decade's together as friends.

This unit with James, Lee, Danny and Russel is as classic as the songs, historic in a way... great to see them all together again.

Danny= Danny Kortchmar? I think he's a very fine guitar player. His solo output was a little different from the usual singer/ songwriter stuff. To my knowledge he made two records under his own name.
I saw J.T. a few years ago, and he had John Landau on guitar. The ticket prices were very high. I won't and can't pay that much today.

Yeah Tony,

I'm wondering what that concert at the Troubador [in LA] must have cost per ticket?

I'm semi-retired and just don't have the work I used to have, and probably couldn't afford a ticket myself, now, to even go on a pony ride.

I'm wondering if this/these shows were of the legendary Weston pay-back kind?
Doug would give obvious but young talent a week's run for free with the agreement that they would do a week for free when they became big.

Amongst others, I saw Gregg Almond's awesome and infamous payback week, where he met Cher. The next night after meeting her was short but priceless!

Well for me, I pretty much don't even have the desire to see these cats any more, let alone pay the outrageous ticket prices for a nose bleed seat....we have a local club here where on Tuesday nights it's a great band ..quasi bluegrass/rock/blues..all on acoustic Instruments, Dobro, Mando's, Guitars....all my friends, all real fine players, and it's NO COVER...I would rather throw a $20 in the tip jar for them...which I think everyone does !

Yeah,

I probably wouldn't go to see them, now, even if I could afford it; either at the Troubador or
Joachim's palace. :)

Heck, I've seen and heard them enough, over the years.

But, if somebody else bought the ticket, well, that's a different fish to fry.
