Howard, contrary to what the poster of that vid said, Mike Bloomfield didn't start The Electric Flag. It was a collaboration of Mike and Nick Gravenites. Nick was a 'mover' in the Chicago blues scene when Mike was still a teenager. Nick wrote such blues hits as "Buried Alive in the Blues" and "Born in Chicago" which were covered by Janis Joplin and The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, respectively. Anyway, in the late 60's Nick Gravenites released an album called My Labors. The Electric Flag evolved as a result of Gravenites' touring of that album.

My Labors is available on CD. Here's a cut from it:

Here's a great and rare horn band vid I discovered while posting that last vid. "Mary Had a Little Lamb" (SRV is commonly associated with this song). On this cut (obviously from the 70's and probably recorded in England) Buddy Guy is on vocals and guitar, Jack Bruce on bass, Buddy Miles on drums, and Chris Mercer and Dick Heckstall-Smith on saxophones. Great stuff!
