For a very basic starting point, "Westphalia Waltz" is a simple 3/4 time song in the key of G with a G# diminished as a passing chord between chord changes from G maj to D maj. Also a D aug before moving back to the tonic G

"Bright Lights and Blonde Haired Women". There's a 3m/3dim in the second 8 bars and a 4/#4dim in the last 8.
