GREAT news

Post by Ron Whitworth »

This is really GREAT news!
A BIG THANK YOU to Buddy for agreeing to do this.
Also THANKS to Steve also for it will be done right I am sure. All of this great history from Buddy's memory will now be preserved forever for generations.
This is the icing on a lifetime of steel guitar works that still stand the test of time & will for a long, long time.

Hi Steve,

You are the perfect guy to write that book. You must be excited. Although you're trying to write for the mass audience, please don't dumb down the anecdotes, or the technical instrument descriptions or Buddy's musical insights. I'd suggest you read Johnny Bush's book also.

Good luck,
Joe

This is the BEST NEWS I have heard all week!! Kudos to you being granted the rights! Well deserved Steve and I look forward to this one. As I said before, "it will be on the best seller list in the first month" and it is destined to become a coffee table classic! Will this be offered in hardbound? I can't imagine the life of "Emmons" being a paperback. Hardbound books are synonymous with class to me and Buddy Emmons emotes class; hence a hardbound book in the works!? :D :D

Excellent news.

I hope you can document all of his earliest recordings, before he moved to Nashville and joined the Dickens band. Otherwise, that information will be lost to history.

I would like to buy the book also. And I can also imagine, that there's a demand from fans (non steelers), that are interested in music history, because he backed up so many great artists!

Chris Ivey....I played with Wayne Goodwin for several years before he joined Emmys band. Sadly, Wayne passed away last year after living in Australia for many years. I don't recall the exact reason, though I could get more information (not that it really matters).

Wayne was one of a kind and a great musician!

I think I may have just wet myself a little at the thought of that. :P

I am sure that as many here have already said there will be great interest not just from steelers but from all musicians and fans.

Fish,

May you experience restful sleep during this great endeavor and pledge. To deliver an artist recognized by peers to be a steel guitarist and friend, so complete in every detail, that it will hopefully encourage each new shipment for years to come.
