Tonights CMA's on ABC. . . . . .Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Kid Rock and Sugarland. . . .boy, it just don't get no better than this. . . . . .

I gotta get rid of them Wrangler Jeans, Stetson Hats, and the Rhinestone Country & Western Shirts. From now on, my band members are wearing Toboggin Caps, Ear-rings and pants with torn knee holes. Oh yeah, and the stage has got to have a smoke machine. Now thats country at it best!

Alvin Blaine wrote:Hey Rick,
I don't think you dislike Bobby Bare, you just don't care for Shel Silverstein songs. I think he wrote, or co-wrote, all those you listed as "I just couldn't stand to hear them".

How about more Shel songs like "Boy Named Sue" and "Put Another Log On The Fire"?
"Boy Named Sue" was humorus and not really a song but more of recitation type thing. I kind of enjoyed it, but not too often. It was of no musical value to me. "Put Another Log On the Fire" would be in my don't want to hear list, along with my all time suck song "Good Ole Butter Beans".

If I'm going to have corn, I want it on it's own ears and not in mine.

I'm a hard sell, I can't help it. :)

As I've said several times before. There are a lot of good lyric's today. But they just don't sound country. Country has a feel, a certian sound. When you hear a bluegrass song you know it's bluegrass.
Make it sound country, thats all I ask.
I am also watching the CMA's, so for the only song's that I've heard all nite that I consider the country sound was the tribute to Barbara Mandrell by Martina and People are Crazy by Billy Covington.
IMHO...BD

Nick, I want to join up with you when you get your band remodeled.

I'm watching the show right now. I don't care so much for the singing, it's the drums I want to hear. Kenny Chesney's on there now with a capo on like the 12th fret of his guitar.

I've got to go, I'm afraid I'll miss something. :)

I'm pulling for Little Jimmy Dickens for entertainer of the year. Got my fingers crossed.

Well Theresa, we finally agree on something
I think it's one of the best songs in a long time.
