Why is Alan Jackson selling his home? He hasn't fallen on hard times has he? I don't want to hear anything bad is happening to my all-time favorite country artist.

I'm thinking this guy is more "country club" than "country".

It's a bit overwhelming to me. Was there even a guitar on a stand anywhere ? Someone sure had a lot of shopping time on there hands or a whole bunch of salesmen coming to the home.

I guess I can't see the torn jeans / home/ life style connection.

just a wild guess but I think AJ must have a getaway room (wing), building, farmette, cabin in the woods, bus, trailer, small town or state just filled with his musical life.

There has to be a place he goes to work, doesn't there?

The bass player in our band works for the company that made the doors and windows for Alan's house. They where made in Jamestown N.Y. Maybe I can find out what they cost.Might help in a bargaining a price. :)

Alan's made a lot of money and more power to him. At least he made it singing mostly real country, and there's pedal steel in nearly every song.

Does anyone know where he has moved too? I would love to know. I'm a great fan of AJ since day 1 of his career.

Yes Alan owned an exquisite home but I don't think he ever changed from who he was. He's stayed true to his roots and I would bet he's done his share of charity as well.

30,000 kids starve to death every day; millions of kids must prostitute themselves an average of 100 times a month to keep from becoming one of those statistics.

Maybe, just maybe these times we're going through will teach us that there's more that matters than gold. If we don't learn that, we'll never fix what ails us.

Uh...Ben...could you repeat what you just wrote? I think I missed it. (No offense intended, I just couldn't resist)

After reading Webb's post responding to mine I would like to clarify that my poor attempt at a humorous post was only a response to Ben't triple post. It was in no way meant to be a reflection on the nature of Mr. Jackson's charity work, which is beautiful, or the seriousness of the problem pointed out by Webb. I apologize for any confusion.

Uh...Duncan...Offense taken. I didn't miss Ben's comment. That's what inspired what I wrote. I love AJ. I think he's great guy, a great singer, and and all around good person. It's not him, it's just how far away from what we should be doing to make this world a better place that we've drifted.

In one of the last interviews I read with AJ, even he lamented how he felt there was something more he should be doing. I don't think its any coincidence that a lot of artists are thinking that way these days. I would venture to guess that that might even be what motivated AJ to put his big old double wide up for sale.

If all major artists gave half of their profits from the projects away, this world would look a whole lot different, and they would still have more money than they knew what to do with.
