I would think so, but if you're going to loop an airplane you better have enough speed or all of the dirt on the floor falls in your face. Probably work best if the Pack A Seat was empty.

That reminds me, Does anyone remember. . . when Dekley steels came out, they always bragged about being built out of Pakka Wood. I always wondered if that would make a good Pakka Seat.

it takes an extra tenth of a second, but I don't know of a better way to treat cables.

There is a company called Stage Ninja, they make retractable cables, for power, speakers and instruments. Pretty slick device, I haven't bought one yet, but may soon.

I talked to a rep and they can even customize the gizmo with any brand of cable, including George L.

It appears to be exactly the solution I had in mind. I hate tangled cords!

When we had our quartet, we had one of the extension cord reels from Lowes knows... we would put on mic cord on it, mic end on the reel, then star reeling, plugging on mic cable after another. When we sat up, start at the mixer, and walk to the mic stand, unhook from the next cable and drop the slack on the floor. Go back to the mixer, and start with the next one.

I haven't coiled a cable in many years. It's too time consuming and usually ends up in big knots trying to uncoil them. An old roadie taught me a trick that takes seconds. You just hold the two ends together and fold the whole cable in half, then in half again, then again if it's really long. Then tie the whole thing into one knot. Make sure the two ends stick out longer than the folded end so that it doesn't slip through and cause a knot when you undo it. This method has saved me hours of frustrating and time consuming coiling method over the years and it's easy on the cables. I've had cables for over 20 years that I've folded this way.
