WOW Barry, you’re right. How do you know Dave?

Here’s part of the story behind that picture.
I believe it was 1996. I had only been playing the psg for a couple of years when Dave asked me to join his band, Spaghetti Western. I think this picture was taken at a small club called The Coconut Teaser on Sunset in Hollywood. We only played a few gigs, mainly at larger rock venues like The Roxy and The Whiskey. We also demo’d a couple of songs and went to Nashville to do a showcase in front of some company executives to try to secure a record deal. Things didn’t work out fast enough to suit Dave’s tastes and –
Jeff “Skunk” Baxter was interested in producing and helping the group providing he got to play steel with them, or perhaps he just didn’t think I was good enough, but anyway they decided to let me go.
Some time after that, I don’t think Jeff was involved any more, and they changed the name to Pacific Coast Highway. Unfortunately, I don’t think it went much farther than that, but I hope it did, and I just don’t know about it. I liked Dave’s voice and his original songs, and he was a good guitar player also. The other guys in the group were good players and singers as well. Being a psg newbie I really had to stretch to keep up, and believe I more than rose to the occasion. Here’s a link to one of the songs from our demo. Considering it was my 1st time ever in the studio on pedal steel, I feel OK about it, and it was with the MSA semi-classic in that picture.

I came sometime after you. I enjoyed the gig, they were all nice guys and competent musicians, and I liked the songs, however, you can only play showcases and coffee shops for so long. I think playing these gigs became their hobby since they all had other jobs. It was fun while it lasted. Here's a pic from Universal Citywalk with Dave and the boyz ... Admirable job, by the way.
