Jerry H. .... you mention "style and technic" and I am reminded of a time in Nashville with Jimmy Bryant. He was recording at RCA and while there Chet walked into the studio and Jimmy and Chet embraced ( meanin HUGS only) and someone said something about was they gonna play something together and Chet replied "No,I don't play any of Jimmy's stuff and he don't play any of mine". I thought that was a good reply.

I've been a fan of Chet Atkins for years. His style and tone is so unique; I'm sure I can always recognize his music. There have been many pickers in the past that I've never heard of before, like Mr. Benson. IMO, fast picking for the sake of trying to "smoke someone" means absolutely nothing to me. IMO Chet's music will be around for generations and is always a pleasure to listen to. Oh well, each to his own.
