NOT just a hunter, Steve. Also the "best paid musician in country music," according to one frequent poster.
Let's not get these two fine entertainers confused:
The guy who shoots caged animals and pretends he's a bad-ass macho dude is not the same guy who is the "best paid 'musician' in country music" partly because he lets his shows become Ford truck commercials.
There's a difference!

Help me out here---I'm not trying to sound dim....maybe I just am. Is this serious---does he actually shill for Ford when he's up on stage? This is so far beyond anything I've ever heard of that it sounds like a bad parody of something....
That's why I'm asking. I mean, are we just talking about Ford logos strategically placed on the stand or does he actually say stuff to the audience?
Maybe he could sing
....make a Ford or a Chevy that still last ten years like they should....*
I haven't seen the show but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it sounds like rather than actually talk about Ford much himself that he probably runs a long filmed commercial on the break between the opening act and his set, and also has big Ford logos everywhere. That's not a new thing unfortunately, most big arena tours have corporate sponsors now and I've seen a few (very irritating) such commercials on other tours. The Judds "reunion" tour several years ago was sponsored by K-mart and they made the fans sit through a long K-mart ad on the video screens. Even the already filthy rich "bad boy" Rolling Stones do it I hate to say...
I guess I'm coming off sounding naive so I'll stop the "I'm shocked!" stuff. And while it is obnoxious as hell from an audience standpoint, we all pimp something or other when we try to get by, I guess. Where can I buy one of these tickets to these great artists so that I, too, can watch these commercials? Let me ask that fellow who writes those fine posts about his buddies & heroes who make 700 billion dollars.
I really like M.G's new single.
I like Toby, he's put out good music. I admit I've never seen either live, yet.
The award shows I've seen them on though, they do sing in tune.
. . . it sounds like rather than actually talk about Ford much himself that he probably runs a long filmed commercial on the break between the opening act and his set, and also has big Ford logos everywhere.
. . . just as you see in every municipal sports arena across the country. Even before you get inside the venue, you'll see it and know who "put up the most" ("Preparation H SuperPalace"). Once inside, it's all over the ceilings, courtside tables, outfield fences, endzone big screens, etc..
. . . and if you don't see it, you'll hear it from your professional announcer after any goal home team goal: "Whimbingbango! Ratface Charlie's Oyster Shack donates $50 to area charities!"
So, what's with all the sanctimony for music and artistry? We all know the score here.
