Dave you aiming us at SARA MONTIEL... Shudder!

Jessica has a solid controled and wide ranged voice
and accomplished stage presence.

And she started on the gospel circuit in the south
until her dad smelled money and changed her to dance tracks.
So really her roots are pretty country if you ask me.
She fit in Dukes of Hazzard like she lived there.

She commercially got changed as a teenager,
but now is old enough to take back some control.
If she NOW wants to go back to her roots,
I ain't gonna say, oh no, she's not country.
She's likely MORE country than I am.

If she is using a steel player I'd vote that makes her
MORE country than most 'country acts' these days...
DLD, Chili farmer. Plus bananas and papaya too.

Real happiness has no strings attached.
But pedal steels have many!

Come on, Dennis! Don't sugar coat it! ; -]

I all I know is...

JS sure ain't country in 'My Country'! Albeit, 'My Country" disappeared some time ago along with its music!

Sad, but true! : -[

IMHO, it takes way more than a PSG to make it Country Music!!!!

Mike Johnson played steel on her album, but that sure ain't him on steel there (or John Shanks playing guitar). What is up with the way that steel player is holding the bar? Could he be an actor, or just a young steel player who never sat down with anybody for a lesson? The first thing I would have done with him is get him to hold the bar right, pretty weird! Hey, if Jessica going country means a road gig for a steel player or two, I am all for it.
