Not surprised at all by the outcome. Real touching moment at the end when he couldn't sing through the tears, and left the stage to be with his family. Good to see John Fogerty and Aerosmith rockin' it.

I felt like Phillip would have the votes. I'm happy for him and atleast he is a musician and I loved the fact he left the stage to hug his family! :)
Very cool !!!!

guess its not a singing contest.....that little girl just wasted him. i have worked with jennifer holiday before. it takes a remarkable singer to pull that song off. she was so much better than him it was silly...but...

Bill,
I agree with you! Jessica can sing & it's amazing what chops for age 16.
Unfortunately, the girls can text and call so much faster than this old lady.

yes to bill and theresa. it didn't surprise me, but i still say philphil should never have been on there. it looks like he learned about soul and facial expressions from scotty mccreepy.

my main thought last night was that after the decision, jessica was instantly ignored...no recognition or accolades whatsoever. pretty tacky and inexcusable from my point of view!

Jessica came in second and she'll go far. It's always been about the winner and rightfully so.

Jessica should have joined up in a couple of years when she was out of school and free to support a career
in music. Now it's, "Oh I can't go on the road in support of my record. I have to finish high school!"

Music is a business, and nobody's gonna dump a lot of money for little support in return. It's chancy as it is. We've seen a lot of good folk never make it, and a lot of so-so's go big.

I think Phillip will end up back in his pawn shop in a couple of years-or less. Such is life.
