Come on guys, this is TV. Do you really think the winners are chosen by people calling in? Read this:

From the article about which Rick posted:
Can season five be saved, or is another phony champion going to be pushed on America by Diebold and the RIAA? Perhaps the American people can still make a difference. Call Fox Television and let them know that you won't stand for this. The very institution of reality television is at stake. Call them today!
Isn't it now season 8? So this is an article that's about three years old? I guess the reporter didn't get the same results "blowing the whistle" as say, Woodward & Bernstein did for Watergate...

And I sincerely hope the the old tongue was in cheek for this line: "The very institution of reality television is at stake." ;-)

Check this one out. It tells how they pick the worst ones to put on the TV show, along with the others.

Strictly entertainment. I'm just glad it doesn't come on at the same time as the Wide World Of Wrestling.

I think Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert will be "rigged" to go to the finals. I also think the girl with the purple hair should be "rigged" to be in the top three. If I was the "rigger", that's how I would rig it. MHO

You's guys is such optimists.

Killing reality television is like trying to kill deeply entrenched things like disco, substance abuse, or cockroaches. Never gonna happen. Anybody that wants to avoid them will simply have to steer around them. IMHO.

but, Danny G is a great singer, are we overlooking this or just bashing the bejeezus out of the show because we can ? In my opinion he should win, fix or not !

We at home happen to like the show, I would be willing to bet that those that don't like the show and think I am wasting my time watching it do many things that I think is a waste of time !

So it all evens out !

I agree about Danny G and Adam L. They will definitely be in the finals. I am wondering how long can the blind guy keep winning the sympathy vote? He does not have a great voice at all.

I just saw on the news that next week is "Grand Ole Opry Week" on American Idol.
They said Randy Travis, Brad Paisley, and Carrie Underwood are going to be preforming. All contestants are doing "Country" songs for the week.

I believe this will be an interesting week, I am not a fan of mandatory song categories, but now that it is Country, this may show a different side of the so called leaders, I think Danny will rise to the occasion, not sure about the Adam screamer sideways hair dude, tattoo girl should do well and I also think the blind fella, Scott, may find his niche this week. So many think Country is so easy to sing ( and play) , we'll see.

Like Bobbe says about Steel Guitars,

" It's an easy instrument to play poorly"

and

"he wanted to play Steel guitar in the worst way, and now he does " !

Same goes for singing Country.

I like the different categories of music.
I'm glad it's up to the contestants to choose the song too.

Looking forward to Country week & I know Simon will dig it! :)

I heard they're going to have Lloyd Green, Leon Rhoads, and Buddy Spicher as part of the band.

Just kidding, but it was a good thought wasn't it.

It was Grand Ole Opry Night last night and all I can say is Wow... that was different.

Does anyone want to step into the "Ring of Fire?"
