They are looking for a person to be a star, someone to step right out there and hit the ground running. I believe the one with the most potential is Shawn Mayer. I think she is the one that would come acrossed the easiest in a studio, too.

I believe all three will have an opportunity with a recording contract of some sort...(even, Coffey.)

Of the three, who's gonna win??? It could be any of them... tho, I like Gabe alot, I didn't think he really stepped it up enough last nite (like Melissa did with JTTW, but, I thought her 'Best Shot' rendition was a little misplaced)

Does it really matter who wins?? What's happend with last year's winner, Angela...?

Good point about "Angela"...Even so how about the year before...Its just a hyped show that may border on exploiting young wanna bees to the wolves of Nashville..May one could develop as studio correction devices can make a frog sound like Caruso..But likely as not it won't happen, there were no super talents on this years show...

I give respect to no one that doesn't deserve it...that includes everyone. Just because someone is on tv or on the Opry for that matter, doesn't mean a thing.

Theresa, Your comment said that they deserve respect because they were on national tv. A lot of folks are on national tv. Sometimes, not very good ones.

Melissa Lawson won Nashville Star this season.

I really thought Gabe would win. He'll land a record deal, too! :)
By the way Pat Severs, you sounded great on "GONE COUNTRY".

I posted long ago my suspicion that the whole thing ran as a script. Does nobody get it that as soon as
the "big surprise" elimination of Shawn Mayer was announced, the two remaining "contestants" had a duet
ready to go all rehearsed with the band. Then, when the winner was announced, she was able to immediately able to break out of her "breathless
flabbergastedness" and deliver a flawless rehearsed
song that is on "country" radio today. What a crock!

Thanks Jim,
I like Gabe's singing better! :)

I loved Dylan for what he was, when I could understand what he was singing. :)

Clyde, when the last four contestants are on the line, that is when they start the "crooning".They take the last four into the studio, and give them each a song that will hit the airwaves if they make it.This is all done prior to the last show.
They have duets set up for all four, and they sing together. This also gets the last four ready for the road show.
The last four are set up for "Larry King" or what have you. This is how the "Biz"...so to speak works. If you noticed all four are ready to tour. They have been polished to give a complete show.My guess is that "The Judges", that have been working with them all these weeks will still be in the "Background" helping them.
"John Rich" will be involved in "producing". This all goes on that whole six to eight weeks that they are competing. We only get to see what they do in "One Hour".Some of these folks have never been in a "studio" or had the opportunity to work with a "producer" or "Musicians'. Now all four even "Coffey" has had that experience.
IMHO there were no "losers" here. They have learned more in six to eight weeks than you can imagine.

Jeff, John and Jewel gave these folks great advice the whole time. That was the "crooning" part of the biz.Keep your eyes on "Mellisa" because you will see a "change" taking place in her appearance, She is "beautiful"...but they will make her better. When she starts hitting the road...you will see what I mean.
"Gabe" bless his heart, I know we will hear from him again. It has been a great season..some may not agree with me because we all know there are a lot of "better" singers out there that did not even hit the finals. Will see next season!
I will be waiting and watching!

Karen, judging from your post, it seems that you are not aware of the potential for conflict of interest when your "producer" is also your "judge." That is the point I was trying to make. :|

Karen, thanks for the insights on the "Biz". Seems I had these people all wrong!

You gotta remember, Nashville Star is a tv show. Their #1 priority is putting out an entertaining tv show. Finding a successful artist is byproduct of the show. Finding the next Nashville artist will probably never make them as much money as the tv show.
