Gene Rettig guitar has 9 pedals. Came to think of another from -62; Art Alifano had a T8 w/ 8 pedals.

Daniel
PA did build S-8 guitars. There's a picture of one built for Merle Travis in the Bigsby book if I'm not mistaken.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Bigsby

Post by Fred Jack »

I started working with Whit in the fall of 62 and he already had his triple neck modified to a single neck. I last saw it in 69 and it had galv pipe welded on legs. Three flr peds and a horseshoe type
knee that pulled both directions. He was an excellant player. He liked fast single string but also big fat Chalker type chords.Bobbe knows who cut this down and can tell where pieces of it are. It is anybodys guess where Whit's part went. Whit was killed in car wreck in 1974 near Monmouth,Il.

Bigsby

I didn't see your question about 1961 ... I met Whit in fall of 62 in Colo Springs and he had it when we met.I don't know how long he had had it. Bobbe knows of this instrument and knows who trimmed it up.Bobbe was in the Springs @ time. Whit & I played together til 1968 winter. Whit name was Linus Whittington Taylor and he came from Urbana/Champain area.

Jussi
I was thinking the very same thing. Legend has it... that is, according to Bobbe ;)... that Shot made the wood neck inserts on my Gerry Gerard guitar.

And Fred, you were a strappin' young man, my friend! BTW, the Tony Harrison Band is moving to Thursdays at the Spoke starting Jan. 7, so come on out and bring Jade with ya.
