For some reason when I download a pdf, it comes in as html. How can I receive it in plain text? Your help will be much appreciated.

I don't understand what you mean by it comes in as html. PDF files require a PDF reader or browser plug-in to display their content. Adobe makes the premier Adobe PDF Reader and encoder: Acrobat.

Unless you have installed a PDF reader, and/or browser plug-in for PDF file types, you cannot display them as compiled.

PDF files are not text files. They are a form of image.

Sorry; I'll try to clear it up a bit: If I want to download several paragraphs of text relating to any subject, when I get it downloaded it is ALL IN SYMBOLS. I have never had this problem before and I have both plug-in readers that you mentioned.
