Fellas, lets keep this just about the restoration process please. I want to respect b0b and the forum on this topic. Enough has been discussed on "THE DEAL" and it's time to move on.
The body will be back soon with new Mica and we will proceed with cool pictures and such. Thanks to all of you who have shown an interest in watching this guitar come back to life.
Doug Moss called today from Bud's Polishing and said the parts are ready for pickup! Man he is good at making aluminum look new again... Shout out to Bud's!

Hey J R
I am picking up the polishing today from Bud's and waiting on the body mica which should be completed this week sometime. Soon as I get all the parts in one place I will shoot over some new pics. I will also be doing some nice flocking on the underside as the guitar was really beyond comedic repair to do a nice clear coat. The flocking will be very nice and clean... I have already finished the cleaning and the resto on the small parts and changer. I will however have to make new knee levers as the old ones were drilled and destroyed. It would be a crime to turn this guitar out with a mess like that.

So flocking is a finish, not there for any acoustic properties.
Nice new levers will go a long way. _________________ Those that say don't know; those that know don't say.--Buddy Emmons |

You can cover a multitude of past mistakes with some flocking. |

Moving right along. I need to fabricate a new pickup mount plate as the orig was stripped and all hogged out. Still trying to figure out why but that's in the past now...

The depth of that color is handsome and it grows on me, works well with other tones.
Hard to believe it's the same guitar. |

Wow, that is just amazing.
I hope that guitar appreciates who bought it.
If it had been anyone else it would have been unplayable and in a dumpster somewhere.
Like I've said before, I don't play pedal steel but I appreciate their beauty and am always checking out Damir's posts.
Thanks to Mike and Damir the guitar is beautiful again.
It was great to see the process of restoring this guitar ...... _________________ I have stuff.
