Was the steel guitar and the piano even trying to play in the same KEY?

I'm sure the vocalist was just searching/reaching for the KEY.

In my dreams I was trying to give the song a Reggae feel by singing in quarter tones and changing the chord progession to quartal harmony to match on my PSG parts.
I suppose I was just expecting too much of their severely limited music abilities that they might somehow grasp the extent of my vast knowledge of music and follow me.

Bo.....I agree with whatever I think you said. It sounds reasonable to me.

Your tieless appearance sorta makes you look a little like our Presdient's casual appearance.

Ray, The President is a little thinner and his hair isn't grey. Other than that you can't tell us apart.

Let me with profound affirmation disavow any corroboration regarding this astonishingly tasteless display of musical vulgarity of which even a vernacular of abyss in depth of depravity is without clue.

Stuart.........

I couldn't have stated it more eloquantly myself, even with a lot of help from someone like you.

Thanks for holding up the 'SGF dress code' and presenting that polished look. A gentleman with class, you are, indeed. The SGF is surely blessed by your presence.

The recording may have sounded a bit smoother if the steel had been tuned closer to Just Intonation.

I'm just sayin'... Whoa!

It will take a while for my ears and mind to heal up. Nice tone on the steel....

There were some goods things about the recording, but the general impression was a complete lack of co-ordination and balance. I bet you did it again better later.

If you've ever listened to studio outtakes from the biggest stars of all time, you'll find all sorts of recordings like this. Bing Crosby was renown for hearing band members playing out of tune, then changing the words until people realized what was happening and the whole band cracked up with laughter. Very Happy

Damn... I thought it was very good. One of my top 10 faves. I hear that song on the radio every day. And who says we can't hear good country music these days.

I recognize parts of this recording from a YouTube vid of Mike Johnson (yes, very nice sounding steel! Wink ) and a singer who was purposely singing off key that was posted on an old thread. It was very funny. Laughing
