You'll learn "Statesboro Blues", "Trouble No More", "Done Somebody Wrong", " Shake Your Money Maker",and more. Each is recorded with,and then without the solos; so you can play along with the band. All written out in easy to read tab in the original keys used on the original recordings.
Although this entire steel guitar course is in open E tuning;the songs themselves are in many different keys. Duane Allman's "Drunken Hearted Boy" is included in this package.This slide guitar masterpiece is based on Robert Johnson's "Drunken Hearted Woman", and is in the key of G. The blues deluxe power house "It Hurts Me Too" is presented in the key of E; which is the key Eric Clapton played his slide guitar version in. "Done Somebody Wrong" is presented in the key of C. "Trouble No More" is given in the key of A. All are in open E tuning. You will really learn how this tuning works by playing songs in many different keys, and neck positions!
These full song examples are recorded with vintage lap steel guitars from the thirties through the mid fifties.Every note written out in the book is on the cd so you can hear how it should sound. DVD s can be very inspiring, but its much easier to learn complete solos when they are written out in easy tab!

Pictures of all steel guitars used are in the book. The approximately 58 minute compact disc will play back on either your computer as an audio disc , or your dvd player as an audio disc , or your standard cd player.
The course was designed for the intermediate level student,but even the beginner will immediately be able to utilize these clearly presented song/solos. This method instruction is for six string lap steel guitar,or standard guitar tuned to open E. Backing tracks: rhythm guitar,bass,drums.
This instruction method is in the form of complete songs; not just bits and pieces in riff format. You will develop faster learning complete solos within songs. Thats how all the pros learned. A series of classic steel guitar scales are presented. These musical ideas are then given to you in the complete song context ,with extended steel solos. This way you can absorb this material, and make it your own! From that take off point you'll be creating your own solos!
This method also demonstrates how many of the so called SLIDE guitar solos you have "thought" were slide, were in fact done on lap steel guitar! Arlen Roth is famous for this technique. Techniques in this book/cd take it a step further by actually demonstrating how to use a glass slide on the steel.
Most of the songs in this instuction course have several different approachs given for the solos. For example when its an Elmore James tune; it will be played as Elmore played it once ,then the solos will be played the way Duane Allman re-interpreted them.

I'll buy it. I absolutely can not make any sense out of an E major or E7 tuning other than playing the Steel Guitar Rag. Maybe this book will help me. I've got the Amajor/Gmajor book and CD and like it. I've sent you a separate email about paying for the book and CD.
