| Would a direct box be of any use in studio recordings if I plan to mic all of my instruments?? |

If you have a electronic keyboard, yes.
If your bass isn't going into an amp in the room,
and even if it is, and you have the 2nd available
track/channel for it, yes also.
Otherwise Erv is right.

We keep a couple of Countryman active DI's around our studio. We usually DI the bass and occasionally other instruments. Then if we want an amp sound later, we do a re-amp.

Recently added a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored blue Rose, named the "Blue Bird" to the herd. Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks. |
