Somebody recommend a pair of near-field studio monitors that wont bankrupt me. I don't need powered as i have a power amp. Thanx in Advance.....  |

| KRK has some budget models. I got a pair of K-RoKs that I use at home for $200 used. They don't make that model anymore, but I'm sure you could find something used. |

| There are quite a few good choices, depending on your personal preferences, but I'd suggest giving the Tannoy Reveal passives a listen. The 6" models are modestly priced. Do a google search for reviews. |

| We have been using Spirit Absolute Zero Monitors for about six years. They have met our needs reasonably well, been operated at reasonably high levels over time and are still percolating along. |

I like my Event TR8XL monitors. They're powered but I think Event makes a passive set too. You could probably find a used pair on eBay pretty cheap.

Near-Field Speaker: a compact studio monitor designed for listening at close distances, typically between three and five feet.
