Use this link and when you get to the page, go down to the block of rooms and click on Steel Guitar Room, NOT the one at the top of the page. On the blue page which will open up, type in your full first and last name and clickon the bar or hit your enter key to get into the room.

Is the chat room actually audio, you know, like using voice and requiring microphone and audio card and speakers needed in the PC? I don't see any of the familiar landscape like in Internet Relay Chat (IRC).
Please pardon me if I'm not able to grasp the obvious right away Too many hours with the minors & augmenteds.

Ray, the chat works with both audio and text chat. You don't have to have a mic but it sure beats doing all that typing. Follow the link above that Graham has posted and hope to see you there in the near future. Be careful though, because the chat room is addicting!

I was there and got booted, could not get back in. Frustrating, isn't it.

Is the chat room down, or is it my problem? I did some windows updates and now can't get past the page with the music, where it says "next".

Howard and others here...you just got to understand that the Steel Guitar Chat Room is an internet site and as such....sometimes things will happen that prevent you from using the site at some particular time when you may most want to. Sometimes the server is down as it is with any other web site. Be a little patient. Also we are in the process of some changes that will be occurring from time to time as things progress. As that happens there will be times when you will just have to wait. It's a small inconvenience and while you may get frustrated...again,,,be patient.

Of course I understand that, the problem was here after I downloaded some windows updates. I finally got that sorted out. What's hard to understand is why the chat room is sometimes locked when there are people in it. Like when I was visiting and my connection dropped off, I immediatly reconnected and the room was locked.
