Hello Pedal Steel Pickers,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Chris Allen Burke aka CAB. My in home teaching facility and shop is located in Long Beach CA.
I have been playing pedal steel for over 28 years. I have been teaching
it for over 10. I have been on hundreds of recording sessions and thousands
of live gigs and I bring this experience to my lesson approach. Lessons are
geared for the beginner through the intermediate player. I teach proper
right hand technique and left hand bar control as well as posture
recommendations which will aide in both comfort and performance abilities.
I make available for you, all the necessary learning tools to start you on
your way to unlocking the mysteries of the pedal steel. Each lesson will be
designed for your individual abilities, comprehension and style. I can teach
you single note licks and chord melodies as well as suggest solo ideas,
intros and outros. I will educate you in basic to advanced theory depending
on the direction of your interests. I will also advise you on methods to
help streamline your practices' so your study time is maximized and you’re on
and off the bandstand time is the most rewarding. I can suggest equipment
to accommodate your needs and I have some accessories available for
purchase. I am a certified repair engineer with factory training, so I have
the knowledge and ability to make adjustments repairs and modifications to
your instrument.
