I have a Dobro and a National polychrome tri-cone, and I'm thinking about getting a Fatfinger sustain enhancer. Would the Bass fatfinger give me more sustain on the National than the guitar fatfinger, since it is heavier ? Ed

I have been using these for years, so I think I can answer your question. If your guitar is very body-heavy, a heavier balancing device can help. The principle with the Fatfinger is to somwhat equalize the weight between the points that the strings vibrate from. A telecaster would not benefit from a really heavy one, but a Les Paul would. I use a bass one on my SD Curlee as the body is solid mahogany with large brass plates. I use a guitar one on my Royaltone lap steel, and it is all it needs.
