WAYNE BURDICK.......from the southern Calif. area back in the early 1950's.....WHERE ARE YOU NOW? I have a photo of Wayne behind his triple neck Bigsby with just three pedals, it would appear. He was playing here in Portland with Dickie Phillips decades ago.

I'm moving this to "Steel Players". Maybe someone knows where Wayne is today.

Ray ....would that be crossed-eyed Dick Phillups who later went into the ministry and who also played pretty decent thumb style guitar?

That is the same Dick Phillips.Dick and myself worked a segment on the Godfrey show back in 56.

Dick also was the winner of the Godfrey show
back then. He was also a Fender endorser as well. Great player and a unique way of playing due to a physical disabilty.

He then went on to work with Tex Williams.

I have lost track of Wayne Burdick another fine musician and a good friend of Paul Bigsby.

Wow Ray, I haven't heard of Wayne Burdick for almost 40 years. The last time I heard him play was one Sunday on the Squeakin'Deacon Show at the South Gate Eagles Hall which must have been in around 63 or '64. He was a good player for sure. Have a good 'un.........Jerry

It has been a long time since I heard his name as well. I'm pretty sure I heard it mentioned when he was doing USO recordings for overseas GI radio. I think he was with Tex Williams when I heard those shows in Korea. I also recall being very impressed with his playing as well.

Regards, Paul
