I believe the Steeler behind Mark Chesnut
Looked like he was from Japan. I saw and heard a Steeler of Asian extraction that sounded OUTSTANDING on the Opry Sat. Help me out. Who was it???

Oh my God, Steel, that was none other than the famous Hank Yamaguchi, only I never thought he looked like a foregener. Anyway, he sure can pick, huh?

Mark's steel player is Slim Yamagucchi. Slim was playing an Excel. Brett Day, Emmons S-10, Morrell lap steel

No Ted, you're probably thinking of
Paddy O'Yamagucchi. No relation.

Slim is a very nice, approachable guy and a very accomplished player with a good sense of humor. For a skinny guy, he can eat a ton of pre-show catering. He does play an Excel, but watch out; he may try to trade you out of your Emmons. - DJ -

Hey Ted, what made you think that he looked Irish? Did he have a pint of Guinness next to his steel?
