Hawaiian Steel Guitar....group in Bellingham???

A good friend of mine has asked whether any of you are familiar with a Hawaiian Steel Guitar Club or whatever, in the area of Bellingham, WA?
I seem to recall such a group but cannot find anything to lay my hands on that would help me name names and addresses, etc.
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
