| Anybody Remember Jack Boles on late night WSM radio? If I remember right he came on after Ralph Emery. Had the pleasure of workin' with him a while back. Matter of fact Tommy Minniear (Steel man in Tennessee Tradition Band, we put together 6 years ago) worked the road with him. A great Picker and entertainer, and a walkin' encyclopedia when it comes to Steel Guitar |

Sure do remember, I used to make a point to tune the Sho-Bud Showcase in all the time, and this was long before I began playing steel!

Doyle. Sure do! It used to come on around 12 or 12:30 at night. Late 70's I believe. It would fade in and out way down here in middle Florida. Too bad it's still not on. Martin.

Sure do Doyle, it used to come on around12 or 12:30 at night. Would fade in and out way down here in Florida. Martin.

| I remember it very well. In fact, I did that show a couple of times with Jack Boles back in the early 70's. It was a great radio show for sure! |

Hey, put me down here too !! I always looked forward to hearing it coming home from playing jobs. It made the miles slip away and it also kept me awake because I didn't want to miss anything !!

| Hey thanks guys for the come backs, I just became a member and kind of new on this computer. I'll tell Tommy about this and I'm sure he will drop Jack a line. I think Tommy's computer is down at the time but will have it goin' real shortly. |

I remember the show. I may be mistaken, but I was thinking it came on right after the Ernest Tubb Record Shop.
Anyway, it was a fine program - and I didn't play steel guitar at that time. I believe the theme song was "Redwing" - but don't know who the steeler was who played it.
Thanks for re-kindling the memory of the show, I hadn't thought of it for a long time.

| Jack also emceed several of the steel guitar shows out at the Ramada during Fanfare week back in the 70s and worked for Shot Jackson at the Sho-Bud store in downtown Nashville for a time. |

| HEY SON!,,,I remember back around 1972 I bought Jack's 1958 Telecaster while he was working at Sho-Bud and three years later while working the Opry, had it stolen. It's been about five years since I last saw him. Last I heard, he and his wife Becky were still performing. Talk to ya' later son. |

Yup, heard a lot of good steel on there. That's the first place I heard Tommy White too! Let's see that must'a been about 25 years ago, and Tommy was about 15, and I was...uhh...never mind.  |

| I have an old E9 study course put out by Sho-Bud. It's a book and a 33LP record. Jack is the narrator on the record and I believe PF Sr. is the steel player on the course. |

| I remember Jack well. he used to work at the Sho-Bud store on lower Broadway. I did his radio show one time. He had a great sense of humour and a really powerful evangelist type voice that bellowed. When he said the word "Son", you could hear it all over the store. A great guy! |
